Two number formats, one paste box
Spreadsheets and invoices write numbers differently depending on locale: US/UK style uses a comma
for thousands and a dot for decimals (1,234.56), while most of continental Europe —
including Romania — swaps them (1.234,56). This tool detects the format of each
number independently: if a token has both a comma and a dot, whichever comes last is treated as
the decimal separator. If it has only one separator, the tool falls back to a digit-grouping
heuristic — for example a lone comma followed by exactly three digits, with a plausible one-to-three
digit lead (like 1,234), reads as a thousands separator, while a comma followed by any
other digit count reads as a decimal point.
Stats and sorting
Paste one number per line, or separate them with spaces — negatives and plain integers work too. Anything that cannot be parsed as a number is skipped and listed separately so it does not silently corrupt your stats. The sorted list, count, sum, average, minimum, maximum and median all update as you type, entirely in your browser.
Frequently asked questions
Which number formats does it support?
Both US/UK notation (1,234.56) and RO/EU notation (1.234,56), plus plain integers and negative numbers, mixed freely in the same list.
What happens to values it can't parse?
They're skipped and listed separately underneath the results, so a stray label or typo doesn't silently distort the sum, average or median.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No — parsing, sorting and the statistics all run locally in your browser; nothing you paste is sent to a server.
